Suzi is owner and founder of Yoga Sunshine. She loves the healing power of yoga and works privately with students to develop personal healing plans. She teaches studio classes at her home and local YMCAs. She taught classes at a Rehabilitation and Care Center where all the students were in wheel chairs and currently teaches an adaptive class for students with Parkinson's, Cerebral Palsy, spinal cord injuries and other neurological conditions. She marvels at the profound rate of progress she sees with these students. One in particular wasn't able to distinguish her arms from her legs when they began; two months later she was remembering asana and requesting certain poses if Suzi had varied the routine.
Suzi is a certified International Yoga Therpist, completing her training at the Ananda School of Yoga and Meditation in CA, one of the few accredited programs in the world. She has worked with clients with various needs, including stroke recovery, cancer treatment support, living with severe spinal cord injury, recovery from knee surgery, working through insomnia, healing IBS, diabetes, finding balance with bi-polar disorder, shifting reactions with PTSD, among others. She teaches the Live Strong Yoga classes for patients recovering from cancer.
Suzi is currently registered with Yoga Alliance as a ERYT. She has taught students from ages 8 - 83 and of varying abilities and has more than 1400 hours of experience as a yoga instructor. Her classes are Hatha yoga with a deep spiritual foundation. All classes included, pranayama, asana, deep relaxation and a short meditation.
Suzi also carries certifications as a Meditation Instructor and a Restorative Yoga Teacher.
